He was great at explaining the chocolate-making process and added just the right mix of interesting information and funny jokes to keep us entertained throughout the lesson. The beer was also very good—it was interesting to taste different kinds and to learn more about Trappist monks and their brewing tradition. Definitely a fun and tasty experience!”

“setting up was ready and prepped for the 6 couples. group compere was a bit clumsy with presentation and delivery. No one introduced to one another (name, where your from) as ice breaker, so it felt v formal. Presenter gave a very Noddy history of chocolate and spent the second half of the evening washing up elsewhere. What we made was lovely truffles that made up for the granache running it!”

8.Unique Belgian Chocolate Making Workshop in Bruges

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 47 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $70

At Waffles ’n Beer in Bruges, you’ll make Belgian pralines at a shared station, taste Belgian beers, and learn from hosts such as Wilfred, Brecht, Michele, or Laurent. The English-language class lasts about two hours and includes chocolate treats, beer, materials, and a box of your creations to take home.

“We had a fab time at the chocolate making and beer workshop! The host was really engaging and fun, and we learnt lots about Bruges, beer and chocolate making. We tried 3 different Belgian beers - all delicious, and successfully made 21 chocolates with 7 different fillings. They were good at catering to dietary requirements too (one of us was vegan). A small piece of advice, we found it very tricky to locate the workshop, if there could be a sign outside to make it easier that would make it even better! Thanks for a lovely time - would recommend as an activity for your trip.”
